MjPHC HOSTS 2007 ‘PREPARING FOR
SUCCESS’ CLINIC
On March 24th & 25th,
the Missouri Junior Paint Horse Club held their 2nd
Annual “Preparing for Success” clinic in
Wright City
,
Missouri
, at Greg and Peggy Goeke’s Prosperity Farm. Our clinician was
APHA and AQHA judge Ms Kendra Weiss of
Moberly
,
Missouri
.
The riders had two days of coaching on Hunt
Seat Equitation, Western Horsemanship and Trail. Ms Weiss was
excellent in instructing each individual rider on improving their
horsemanship and provided suggested exercises to do at home.
Everyone enjoyed it and felt they had been thoroughly instructed.
Thanks to all of you who attended…..the
reason for its’ success. We are already looking forward to
hosting our 3rd Annual clinic next year. A special
thank you to Greg,
Peggy and their friends for grilling delicious lemon
chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings for our
lunch.

TOUR EQUINE MEDICAL CENTER
On
Saturday, March 31st, several members of the Missouri Junior
Paint Horse Club traveled to the Equine Medical Center in
Columbia, Missouri, for a tour of their facility. Dr. Robert
Foss, D.V.M., owner and manager, explained the embryo transfer
process in mares. The group observed the embryo in its growth
formation starting with the fertilized egg through 200 days of
formation. Dr. Foss demonstrated and explained the process of
flushing the mare for her embryo, after which the youth observed
as he searched for the embryo under his microscope. An embryo
was found and he explained the process of preparing the embryo
for transfer to the recipient mare.
Pictured
